What is the theme of Lee?

What is moral judgement of lying ?
Moral decisions about naughty behaviour and if that is different between truth and lie telling.
What was the cultural focus in Lee ?
Looked at Canada and China to see if a collectivist culture lies more than an individualistic culture.
What are Chinese children taught about morals ?
They are taught honesty and modesty are important and that they have to be truthful and report misdeeds. They are also taught to lie when they do something good.
What is the aim of Lee ?
To investigate and cross-culturally test culture on children’s moral evaluations of lying and truth telling by com paring individualistic and collectivist rating.

1) If prosocial situations had cultural differences.
2) Would difference increase with age.
3) Would there be no difference in antisocial situations.

108 Canadian children, male and female, aged 7, 9 and 11, from a smaller province known for its industry.
Chinese sample in Lee
120 Chinese children with an equal gender spilt, aged 7, 9 and 11 from a main cultural and educational city in China.
