If peers is an umbrella term, what is the definition we give to it
Peer: individuals of equal standing, whether this is a function of age, rank or class. people with similar athletic capabilities starting status and experiences regardless of age.
Describe and explain the components of peer relationships
Popularity: experience of being liked or accepted by one’s peers - group level construct with a social acceptance
Friendship: experience of a dyadic relationship that is mutual and close and bilateral in nature.
Name 4 positives and 4 negatives of peer relationships
Positives: loyalty emotional support help and guidance and absence of conflicts
Negatives: conflict, unattractive personal qualities, betrayal and inaccessibility.
what is the difference between peer relationships and physical competence and affects
PR and physical competence = meaningful associations exist between peer relationships and self perceptions
