lecture 9 Flashcards
What are 3 different parts of the subslavian artery
Thyrocervical branch - (medally of the anterior scalene)
Costal Cervical branch - ( posterior of the anterior scalene )
part 3 typically has no branches but its lateral of the anterior scalene
What is medial to the anterior scanelene and what are its subsequent arteries?
- Thyrocervical trunk
- inferior thyroid
- variable
- Transverse cervical artery
- Supplies the rhomboids
- passes ant to anterior scalene muscle
- runs along with CN IX
- Supraclavicular arteries
- supply the infra/supra spinous fossa
- b/w the steriocleidomastiod and the scalene anterior
- inferior thyroid
- Vertabral artery
- runs throught the fomale magnum
- meets with other vertebrae artery to form basolic artery
- passes through transverse formina 6 -1
- Interior throaric artery
What is postior to the anterior scalene?
the costocervical trunk
What is artery is superior to the pectoralis minor
It is the suprathoracic artery
supplies the posterior intercostal spaces 1 and 2 and portion of the posterior serratus anterior
1ST PART OF THE AXILLARY ARTERY
What arteries are deep to the pectoralis minor?
THE SECOND PART OF THE AXILLARY artery
Thoaracicacromal artery
Supplies the
- pect. branch
- delt. branch.
- clavicalular branch
- acromial branch
Lateral thoraric artery
- lateral side of pec minor
- supplies pectoralis muscles, lymphn nodes and the breast
WHat artiers run inferior to the pectoralis minor?
THE THRID PART OF THE AXILLARY ARTERY
- The post circum flex
- passes around post. aspect. of surgical neck of humerous
- anastomoses with ant. circum flex of humeral
- runs with axillary nerve
- supplies deltoids and triceps
- quadrilateral space
- Anterior circum flex
- Subscapular
- thoracodorsal
- latissimus muscle
- circumflex scapular
- thoracodorsal
What are the ananstomosing branches of the scapula ?
Suprascapular artery
dorsal scapular artery
posterior intercostal arteries
circumflex scapular artery
thoracodorsal artery
What artery runs along the vertebral border of the scapula?
Dorsal scapular artery and it arises from either subclavian or the transverse cervical artery
What do the lateral lymhatics follow?
cephallic vein
(chains if nodes in delta pectoral groove to axillary nodes )
How do lumphatics flow medally?
From epitrochlear nodes to axillary
where do lymph nodes lie brachially?
Lie medial to humerous near axillary and vein
Where do pectoral lymph nodes lie?
lie beind pect minor with lateral thoracic artery
drain mammary gland
Where are lymph nodes subscapularlly?
Lie along lower border of scapula with subscapular artery
drain the back
What are the central nodes?
In axil;ary fat
recieve lymoh from all the above nodes drain to apical nodes behind clavicle
