Lecture 8 Flashcards
Elbow Flexion MMT
Biceps: forearm supinated
Brachialis: Forearm pronated
Brachioradialis: forearm neutral
Elbow Extension MMT
Triceps
Prone or sitting
forearm in neutral
force applied to distal wrist along the ulna
Forearm Supination/Pronation MMT
Sitting
Take hand & stabilize at elbow
Twist hand in desired direction
Wrist Flexion MMT
Elbow resting on table, stabilizing at wrist
Flexion: testing hand across the palm. Arm is supinated
FCR: apply force towards extension and ulnar deviation
FCU: apply force towards extension and radial deviation
Wrist Extension MMT
Elbow resting on table, forearm pronated and wrist stabilized
Composite wrist flex: resistance across midline of dorsal hand
ECRL/ECRB: resistance towards flexion and ulnar deviation
ECU: flexion & radial deviation
Finger Flexors MMT
Superficialis: Stabilize other fingers, middle phalanx has resistance applied. Forearm supinated
Profundus: Apply resistance to distal phalanx. Forearm supinated.
Finger Abduction MMT
Dorsal Interossi & Abductor digiti minimi
Forearm pronated, fingers abducted.
Finger Adduction MMT
Palmar interossei
Forearm pronated, fingers adducted
Thumb Abduction MMT
forearm resting on table, supinated
stabilize wrist
force at proximal phalanx
Thumb Adduction MMT
forearm
