Lecture 5 & 6 Flashcards
Oedipus complex
Rivalry, longing for relation that others have. Includes regression.
Two drives
Libido and death drive
Object-relations (Klein)
Attonement
How we move each other, eg touch, voice, eyes, mirror neurons. Regulating vitality in self and others
Mirroring
Refers to sameness. Understanding what the other feels. Understanding what that does with you, feeling of being understood
Marking
More varied mirroring. Leads to differentiation. I see you and I respond to you with my perspective. Moving that person with your intentions and meanings.
Natural pedagogy approach of mentalizing
Natural pedagogy is a basic cognitive adaptation, which is indicated by the fact that young infants display receptivity to adults’ ostensive communications well before they show evidence of learning from such interactions.
