Callous-unemotional traits
A
A sign/risk-factor for development of ASPD. Predicting the gun carrying frequency and lack of fear/empathy.
Contribute to the effort to clarify differences between AS personalities and psychopathy. (don’t appear in AS wo psychopathic traits)

Countertransference
A
- Overestimation of the patients capacity to use treatment
- Tendency to regard themselves capable of treating the untreatable
- Disbelief; denial that someone is that disturbed
- Collusion; Corrupte, in turn committing illegal act or unethical behaviour to ‘help’ the patient.
- Difficulty accepting they are different than them, which they’ll try to work around by playing their therapist

Near impossible
3 predictors of better outcome, comorbid:
Anxiety
depression
Treatable psychotic diagnosis.
Focus on:
Principle of agency, insight into faulty thought processes.
Holding them accountable for their actions. They’re not the victim

- Be extremely wary in outpatient setting
- Psychotherapy doesn’t work for psychopaths
- Must accept if treatment is not recommended (prone to overestimate who’ll respond to therapy)
- No legal complications (pending court actions, real reason of seeking help)
- Always have 2nd opinion
- No treatment unless you feel safe
- No expectations
- be wary of countertransference
