Lecture 4 (2) Flashcards

1
Q

Convergent validity

A

The extent to which scale items assumed to represent a construct do in fact “converge” on the same construct

Ideally, two tests measuring the same construct, such as stress, should have a moderate to high correlation. High correlation is evidence of convergent validity, which, in turn, is an indication of construct validity.

Q

Discriminant validity

A

The extent to which SERVQUAL has five distinct dimensions (-)

Discriminant validity specifically measures whether constructs that theoretically should not be related to each other are, in fact, unrelated.

Q

Predictive/concurrent validity

A

Extent to which SERVQUAL scores are associated as hypothesized with other conceptually related measures

Concurrent validity indicates the amount of agreement between two different assessments. Generally, one assessment is new while the other is well established and has already been proven to be valid.
