Lecture 4 Flashcards
Gastrulation (week 2)
Formation of the 3 germ layers by migration and differentiation of blastula cells
Three germ layers in gastrulation
- Ectoderm: skin, hair and nervous system
- Mesoderm: muscles and bones
- Endoderm: most other organs
Neurulation (week 3)
Formation of the neural plate, neural groove and neural tube in the ectoderm
