L.E. Nerves Flashcards
Sciatic nerve
Is really 2 nerves bound together- tibial nerve and common fibular nerve
Supplies no structures in the gluteal region; it innervates the posterior thigh muscles, all leg and foot muscles, and the skin of most of the leg and foot
Obturator nerve
Supplies adductor longus, adductor brevis, garcilis, and pectineus…posterior branch supplies the obturator externus and adductor Magnus
Clunial nerves supply
Skin of gluteal region as far as greater trochanter
Posterior cutaneous nerve of thigh supplies
Skin of buttocks, skin over posterior aspect of thigh and calf …
Superior gluteal nerve supply
Gluteus medius, gluteus minimis, and tensor fasciae latae
Inferior gluteal nerve supply
Gluteus Maximus
Nerve to quadratus femoris supply
Innervates hip joint, inferior gemellus, and quadratus femoris
Nerve to obturator internus
Supplies superior gemellus and obturator internus
Sural nerve supplies
Skin of posterior and lateral aspects of leg and lateral side of foot
Common fibular nerve branches
The c.f.n. leaves the fossa and wind around the neck of the fibula, where its most prone to injury. Here it divides into its terminal branches, deep and superficial fibular nerves
Most inferior branches of the Posterior cutaneous nerve of thigh supplies
The skin that overlies the popliteal fossa
What nerve innervates between 1st and 2nd toe
Deep fibular nerve
Superficial branch of fibular nerve
Innervates lat compartment muscles
