Landing Gear and Brakes Flashcards
DN LOCK REL button
mechanically releases the landing gear lever down lock solenoid
Alternate Gear Extension Lever
when pulled, relieves hydraulic pressure in the landing gear lines and releases all landing gear uplocks
Alternate Gear Extension Lever Unlock pushbutton
releases the handle from the fully extended position
Electrical Override Switch NORMAL/GEAR DOWN
NORMAL - landing gear lever performs landing gear retraction and extension
GEAR DOWN - electronically bypasses the PSEM, opens the forward and aft doors and extends the landing gear
Landing gear warning activates when:
- flap selector lever set to 5 or FULL with gear not down and locked or
- slat/flap 0-4 and RA below 700 agl and either thrust lever below 45 degrees (2 engines) or thrust lever below 59 degrees (1 engine)
the brake control module (BCM) functions are:
- locked wheel protection
- antiskid protection
- automatic wheel braking
- touchdown protection
When is locked wheel protection active
on ground and wheel speed above 30 kts
When is antiskid protection deactivated
below 10 kts
How many emergency brake applications do the accumulators provide
six full brake applications
max steering angle using hand wheel steering
+76 degrees until 40 knots then decreases linearly to 7 degrees at 100 knots
max steering angle using rudder
+-7 degrees
the free wheel mode is auto selected when
- air/ground system failure
- steering angle greater than 76 degrees
- steering system failure
minimum runway width for turn 170/175
170 - 54 ft 8 in
175 - 59 ft 2 in
LG LEVER DISAG warning
a discrepancy between the position of the landing gear control lever and at least on landing gear is detected
BRK OVERHEAT caution
brake temp has exceeded normal range
