Automatic Flight Flashcards
Pressing the TO/GA button selects which modes according to the airplane status:
Lateral - TRK (go around), ROLL (takeoff)
Vertical - TO (takeoff), GA (go around), WSHR (windshear detection)
What will disengage the autopilot?
- AP button on guidance panel
- AP button on control wheel
- manual pitch trim
- windshear
- stick shaker
- reversion to direct mode
- pilot input on controls at certain parameter
- aileron or elevator disconnect
- internal monitor failure
TO pitch logic
all engines - V2+10 kt one engine: failure below V2 - V2 failure between V2 and V2+10 - present speed failure above V2+10 - V2+10 kt
Below what altitude does the FD provide escape guidance in case of windshear detection
1500 ft AGL
When can you arm VGP mode and when will it engage
can be armed within 30 nm from FAF; engages within 5 nm of FAF
Yaw damper disengagement occurs when:
- YD pushbutton on guidance panel is pressed
- fly-by-wire system reverts to direct mode
- fly-by-wire system engagement status indicates that control of the rudder surface has failed
When the FMS is selected as the primary navigation source the system automatically selects the ILS frequency and localizer course when:
- within 25 nm of destination
- PREV function is used
- AUTO tuning is enabled
- ILS or BC is part of active flight plan in FMS
The AT normally engages on ground when:
- no AT system active failures
- AT button is pressed on GP
- both thrust levers are above 50 degrees TLA
The AT normally engages in flight when:
- no AT system active failures
- AT button is pressed on GP
- airplane is at or above 400 ft AGL
The AT system is automatically disengaged:
- after touchdown
- when thrust lever is moved beyond TO/GA
- thrust reverse operation during RTO
- TLA difference greater than 8 degrees
- AT system failure
The thrust ratings transmitted by the TRS are:
- takeoff (TO)
- go around (GA)
- climb 1 (CLB-1)
- climb 2 (CLB-2)
- cruise (CRZ)
- continuous (CON)
AP FAIL caution
autopilot is no longer operative
AP PITCH MISTRIM caution
pitch trim and autopilot commanding pitch trim control in opposite directions
AP PITCH TRIM FAIL caution
autopilot stabilizer trim is no longer operative
AP ROLL MISTRIM caution
roll trim and autopilot commanding roll trim control in opposite directions
