Is play limited to children? Describe a study how play impacts people in adolescence or adulthood
Play extends from childhood to adolescence and adulthood. In the study by Durkin and Barber (2002), it was found adolescents who played computer games were more socially competent. The group of 16 year olds whom played computer games recorded higher levels of self-concept, family cohesion, positive mental health and network of friends. On the other hand, non-computer gamers scored lower in these areas.
