Contraindications
A
Non-TBI with severe HTN (BP >180)

A
May exacerbate cardiovascular conditions

Side effects
A
CVS - HTN and tachycardia
CNS - emergence behaviours (hallucinations, vivid dreams, confusion, irrational behaviour, restlessness), increases muscle tone
Resp - transient resp depression and apnoea
Other - pain at injections site, Diplopoda, nystagmus, hypersalivation and lacrimation
GI - nausea and vomiting

Anaesthetic agent which works as an antagonist on the NMDA receptors
