- rectal suppository 650 mg 4x/day

gastric discomfort, tinnitis, vertigo, deafness (reversible), increased bleeding

digoxin (Lanoxin) safety administration
A
risk for digoxin toxicity w thiazide diuretics and loop diuretics (increase loss of potasium in urine)

- broad spectrum penicillin
- gram pos and gram neg organisms
- side effects-hypersensitivity (rash-anaphylaxis), superinfection, Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
- may decrease efectiveness of oral contraception

- first generation cephalosporin
- gram pos and gram neg
- side effects- GI disturbance (NVD), increased bleeding, nephrotoxicity w pre-existing renal disorder
- alocohol (flushing, dizziness, HA, N/V, muscle cramps),

A
- macrolide (broad-spectrum antibiotic w bactericidal)
- PO or IV, no IM
- mild to moderate infections
- side effects- N/V/D abdominal cramping, conjunctivitis, hepatoxicity

doxycycline
A
- tetracycline (broad spectrum)
- treats H. Pylori
- N/V/D, sunburn, no 1st trimester, discolor teeth, breaks down to toxic byproduct, nephrotoxin, superinfection
- antacids, oral contraceptives, increase warfarin levels

- aminoglycoside
- serious infections
- ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity, superinfection
