He is omnipotent and omnipresent

Why do Jews write God as G-d?
Because they believe that God is intangable and thererfore you can’t write the name God so they write it as G-d

There is only one God and he created the world on hos ownand he sustains it.
God is infinit and eternal
What is the shema?
A prayer that afferms their belif in one God (it is found in the Torah.
The opening line reminds jews about monotheism
How is God a lawgiver?
He gave us laws that we need to follow lie the ten commandments at the covent at sini and the Mitzvot
How is God a judge?
God will judge everyone once they die
However God will always be forgivfull and merciful if he sees that you have been good to God

The belief that God can focus his presence is some places. Eg in a synogogue it is saod that you can feel God more
Whilst the Jews were traveling around looking for Cannan they had a tebernacle which was thought to be the house of God. This was kept in the middle of there camp whilst they were being guided by a “pillar of cloud”

Why so we need to help God sustain the world?
God can’t sustain the damge that human’s do eg pollution and littering therefore we need to help God sustain the world

The mitzvot has 613 laws.
Orthodox jews would say that we need to live our lives to make God happy so they don’t limit us.
Reform Jews would say that God gives us the choice of which laws to floow and which to not follow

Keep the Sabath holy
Only worship 1 God
Don’t worship idles
Don’t ise God’s name in vain

Jewish beliefes about heaven?
Once you go you got to a place called Gan Eden where you will be with God
It is unknown is this is a spiritual or phycical place as there are no clear teachings in the Tenak about this
What is sheol?
A waiting room for jews whilst there souls are cleansed.
This is where you go if you are judged unworthy to go to Gan Eden because Jews don’t believe in hell
When do Jews believe judgment happens?
Some Jews believe that you are judged as soon as they die
Other Jews believe that you are judged on a judgment day (the day when the Messaih comes) with everyone else who has ever died
Most jews also believe that they are judged once a year at Rosh Hashanah
What is Rosh Hashanah?
The jewish new year
Here people believe that they are judged by God and God decides if they will have a good next year depending on there actions the previos year
What are Jewish belifes on resorection?
Most Jews reject the idea because they belive that you are given 1 life and 1 chance to be good.
What is the story of how Jews gained to promised land?
Abraham left his home town or Ur because people wouldn’t listen to him when he said that worshiping idles was wong and that they should only worship 1 God.
He left Ur in search for Canaan.
On his travels he was visited by the Lord who said “I will make of you a great nation”
This tells Jews that Canaan is the promised land
Explain Abrahams covenant with Abraham?
How was it fuffiled by Abraham and God
This was the first Covenant ever made between humans and God. God promised that Abraham would be the farther of many nations whilst Abraham promised that he would live a life dedecated to God and do whatever God told him to do.
The covenant was sealed by the circumcision of himself and his male family members.
God fuffiled to covenant by letting Abraham live to over 4,000 and by giving him a chuld Isaac
How did the Jews escape from Egypt?
After 1,000 years after God’s covenant with Abraham they Jews were being used as slaves by the egyptians. God chose Moses to lead the escape. He told Moses to the pharo for freedom and when he said no he sent some plagues.
After these plagues the phareo agreed to let them go. The Jews left Egypt and wandered around to try and find Cannan for many years.
Explain the covenant at Sinai
Mosses climed the mountain at Sinai and: Made between God and Mosses. God promised to bless and protect the Jews whilst Jews prommised to live a life dedicated to God.
Mosses is seen as a representation of all Jews (even living Jews today) this means that the covenant is still binding.
What are jewish belifes about the sancity of life?
They beieve that all life is created and can only be taken by God.
Tuey also believe that all lofe is holy and therefore it is all Jewish people jobs to save lives
