What was Ichthus?
When was it used?
A symbol ised by Catholics to affirm your belif that Jesus was the son of God
It was also used to prove you were a catholic in places where catholisism is and was illegal

What was the Alpha and Omeaga symbols?
It represents how God is involved in everything from the begging to the end.
Alpha (Α) is the first letter of the greek alphabet
Omega (Ω) was the last letter of the greek alphabet
What was is Chi-Rho?
An P wih an X on it.
This presents the belif that throuh his death Jesus saved all of humanity
X and P are the first greek letters for Christ
What is the Christ the Redeemer statue?
What does it do?
A statue that looks over Río de janaro
It challenges the precived Godness of socioty at the time it was built and now it acts as a reminder that that God is loving, carring and forgiving
What are the sacret heart statues?
Statues that show Jesus
He often has holes in his hands
A crown of thorns
A hole in his side (where he was speared by the guard)
He is normally pointing towards his heart.
It reminds us that God let his son be persecuted in order to save humanity
What are the point of crusifixes?
They remind us of the pain and suffering Jesus went through.
Sometimes Jesus is wearing priest vestement to show that his suffering was for the good of human kind.
This is the most common way that Christians share there belifes and affection for God.
Should religius art be used?
Yes
They are a good thing for christians to think about whilst praying
You can see other christians point of view
It can increase your understanding of your faith

This may cause herecy as people belive that Jesus is 100% human and not God
People may have different views that you
It was give you false impresions about Jesus (eg Jesus was probaly black but is commenly shown to be White in some places)
It may lead people tp worship idles
It isn’t possible to protray God accuratly in a statue because he is trancendent and omnipotent

This confirms the dignity of the priesthood

How does grace effect the sacraments?
A sacrament is an internal filling og grace and an external showing of it
