remove cannula
express any pus from thrombophlebitis
antib 14days
echo
IV catheter infection prevention
dont leave in unused catheter
change catherter every 72hrs
aseptic technique
monitor for thrombophelbitis
surgical wound I
clean wound
major tracts not entered (resp, GI etc)
surgical wound II
clean contaminated
tracts entered but no unusual contaminatin
surgical wound III
contaminated wound
open, fresh, accidental, gross spillage from GIT
surgical wound IV
infected
pre-exisintg infection
surgical wound infection organisms
