We are born with the capacity but it’s learned behaviour
What is empathy
It is bedrock of intimacy and close connection
W/o relationships emotionally shallown
Can still work beside one another but clueless about inner feelings
Empathy increases pro social behaviour helps us to acknowledge when we are bad become aware of pain we cause
Narcissism
Empathy is an antidote to bullying and other anti social behaviour

Sympathy
You identify with the situation that person finds the self in
