• heavily influences by others as individual + as groups (the people
  around us) less emphasis on bio + cognition
• each society/culture has their own guidelines/rules on how to behave
  these are called *social values (vary with diff groups)
• cultures is just the ethnic group we live in, in society. one’s cultures
  affect your response and aptitudes to individuals

• social roles dictate our behaviour to other people depending on said role
  e.g. student listens to teacher but students becomes a son/daughter wont
  listen to mother

• behave certain ways to what we believe are acceptable in that setting:
  believe we should take off top in doctors but no in supermarket when someone
  asks
• learn how to act in our upbringings, learn the unwritten rules of society.
