people start to follow the group to not feel insecure
or left our due to status or attractiveness of the group. easily follow
someone with authority

to dress, act, talk that is associated with that specific atmosphere
Define cultural norm
countries, sub-regions have different values and beliefs to
one another
Define social settings
expectations of one’s setting - will follow if its standard
to the setting, vice cersa if its not. doctor -> hospital setting -> prescription
doctor -> back of maccies -> very sus
Define social role
certain behaviours you need to and not do depending on your roles
+ varies heavily with each role
e.g. student, teacher, mom, dad, son, daughter etc
what are the effects of interaction between individuals
- heavily influences by others as individual + as groups (the people
around us) less emphasis on bio + cognition - each society/culture has their own guidelines/rules on how to behave
these are called *social values (vary with diff groups) - cultures is just the ethnic group we live in, in society. one’s cultures
affect your response and aptitudes to individuals
our relationship with other people are major influence on an individuals
behaviour, processes and emotions what are these affects (*social roles)
- when with diff people, we are allocated diff roles
- social roles dictate our behaviour to other people depending on said role
e.g. student listens to teacher but students becomes a son/daughter wont
listen to mother
the situations we are in has an effect on our behaviour, we don’t always act
accordingly to our free will:
- the environment determines our behaviour. all behaviour occurs in social
context even if no one else is present - behave certain ways to what we believe are acceptable in that setting:
believe we should take off top in doctors but no in supermarket when someone
asks - learn how to act in our upbringings, learn the unwritten rules of society.
each situations have their own social norms
