A

largest organ, outer layer, 2mm thick in most places but it fluctuates in certain areas. 12 - 15% of body weight

what is the epidermis

A

outermost layer
made up of stratified squamous epithial tissue cells and is divided into 4 sublayers:
- stratified corneum
- stratified granulosum
- stratified basale
an additional layer is in thicker parts such as the palms and feet, tjis is called the stratified lucidum

what is the dermis

A

middle layer
protects and supports body
had blood vessles, sensory nerve receptors and response to stimuli

their skin blends in with the natural environment. their skin is mad of stacks of thin cells thay can reflect light. by combining the reflection with the correct patterns to mimic the natural environment
