Installation or removal of configuration profiles

• You can review information about a profile before installing it. On your Mac, do one of the following:

If the profile is attached to an email, open the attachment.

If the profile is posted on a website, download the profile from the website and open it.

• Choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click Device Management. (You may need to scroll down.)

You may be asked to supply your password or other information during installation.

• In the Downloaded section, double-click the profile.
• Review the profile contents, then click Continue, Install, or Enroll to install the profile.

If an earlier version of a profile is already installed on your Mac, the settings in the updated version replace the previous ones.

What are the steps to viewing an installed configuration profile on a Mac?

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click Device Management. (You may need to scroll down.)
2. Double-click a profile in the Device Management list to view information about it.

What are the steps to removing an installed configuration profile from your mac?

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, click General in the sidebar, then click Device Management. (You may need to scroll down.)
2. Select a profile in the list, then click —- (the remove button)

When you remove a profile, all of its settings and information are deleted. For example, if the profile set up your email account, removing the profile deletes the account information from your Mac.

1. Download profile from email or website
2. Allow permission to install the profile

You can see the profiles you have installed in Settings > General > VPN & Device Management. If you delete a profile, all of the settings, apps, and data associated with the profile are also deleted.
