hemorrhage, hyperemia, edema

Mobilize fluid and reduce edema
What are typical treatments for acute inflammation?
Rest, compression, ice, NSAID’s
When does subacute inflammation occur?
Time between acute and chronic inflammation. Lasts until evidence of host reparative response.
What is definition of chronic inflammation?
Inflammation with host reparative response.
What are the hallmark signs of Chronic inflammation?
Tissue destruction & alteration (remodeling, contracting) Fibrosis (scarring)
What is treatment for chronic inflammation?
Heat, strengthening, massage, acupuncture, laser
What type of inflammation results in sharp or severe pain?
Acute
Which inflammation results in stiffness after rest?
Chronic
What is the appearance of acute vs chronic inflammation in texture?
Acute generalized swelling, soft in texture
