What actions can be taken to detect if a crew member is incapacitated?
No response to:
Two verbal communications, or
Any verbal communication associated with a significant deviation from a standard operational procedure or a standard flight profile.
What actions should be taken if pilot incapacitation is suspected?
Don Oxygen mask if no obvious reason.
Plane, Path, People (NUTA) - full use of Autopilot, Ensure a safe flight path;
Consider Autoland.
Complete type-specific QRH (or equivalent);
Make the Alert Call “WILL THE SENIOR CABIN CREW MEMBER REPORT TO THE FLIGHT DECK IMMEDIATELY”
What actions should be taken if Captain becomes incapacitated on a Cat 2/3 approach?
Autoland may be completed by F/O If no response at Decide due incap.

Pilot Incapacitated considerations.
Safe Flight Profile. FLY THE AIRCRAFT.
Full use of Automatics. Consider Autoland
Alert Call. (move pilot or lock & move rudders)
Electric seat switch in seat back.
Get help (HVY crew, CC, ATC, positioning crew, doctor, & medlink)
Pan, Mayday, Divert? why ill – food?
Think ahead to taxi, after land cxs, doors call, Follow me car?
Can Cabin Crew help?
Flight Crew Oxygen use - OM B GEN 3.6.3.a
If oxygen is required:
Use on normal setting. - Do not use ‘EMERGENCY’ setting.
Fit a portable Oxygen Bottle and mask to incapacitated crew
One crew member must remain on FD for remainder of the flight;
Cabin crew MUST NOT occupy a pilot’s seat;
The cabin crew member may be used to assist with Flight/Cabin communications and to access and monitor the well being of the remaining pilot.
