First or Second class
What is the duration of a Second Class medical privileges?
12 months from the date of examination.

Are flight crew members allowed to use any over the counter medications while performing their duties?
a. Medications may impair your
ability to fly—even though you feel fine. Check side effects.
b. Do not fly if the label warns of significant side effects, until at least five maximal dosing intervals have passed.
C. Never fly after taking a new medication for the
first time until at least 48 hours have passed and
no side effects are noted.

Under 40: 12 Months
Over 40: 6 Months – Reverts to 2nd class for 6 months.
What is the duration of Third Class medical privileges?
Under 40: 60 Months
Over 40: 24 months
What are the requirements to qualify for BasicMed?
a. Hold a valid driver’s license
b. Have held a medical on or after July 15, 2006
c. Undergo a physical exam every 48 months
d. Take the BasicMed course every 24 months
What are the restrictions when flying under BasicMed?
a. Aircraft maximum takeoff weigh < 6,000 LBS
b. Speed less than 250KIAS
c. Below 18,000ft MSL
d. Maximum capacity of six occupants
