Clinic- >or = 140/90 - 1590/99mgHg
Stage 1 HTN AMBP
> or= 135/85mmHg -149/94
Stage 2 HTN clinic BP
> or=160/100-180/120mmHg
Stage 2 HTN AMBP
> or=150/95mmHg
Stage 3 or severe HTN BP
Clinic systolic >or = 180mmHg or clinic diastolic>120
What’s persistent Hypertension
High bood pressure at repeated clinic encounters
What’s accelerated HTN
A severe increase in BP higher than 180/120mmHg or over 220/120mmHg
With signs
Retinal haemorrhage
And or papilloedema ( swelling of the optic nerve)
Associated with target organ damage
