What is the difference between hirsutism and virilization?
A
Hirsutism: presence of masculine hair growth.
Virilization: Development of male features ( voice, increased muscle mass, clitoromegaly, etc..)

Excess production of Cortisol, Cushing disease.

Two out of three Rotterdam Criteria :
1. Oligomenorrhea or Anovulation

Increased activity of 5a-reductase at the level of the skin and hair follicles.
