Hydraulics Flashcards
Describe the amplified procedure for the Hydraulic Pump check during the First Flight Check and Before Start Check?
First Flight Check:
Ensure that the nosewheel steering is disengaged. Select the MFD HYD page on the MFD and switch both electric hydraulic pumps to AUTO. Verify that the indicated pressures are within 2900 ± 200 psi. Check that the hydraulic fluid levels of systems 1 and 2 are within normal range. Switch both electric hydraulic pumps to ON and verify that the indicated pressures are within 2900 ± 200 psi. Turn both electric hydraulic pumps OFF and observe the ‘OFF’ indication on the MFD hydraulic page. Verify that the system
pressure drops toward zero.
Before Start Check:
Ensure the electric hydraulic pump knobs are in the OFF position and that both hydraulic systems are depressurized.
Describe the amplified procedure for MFD System Pages checked with regards to the Hydraulic Page during the Before Start Check?
On the hydraulic page, verify that there is sufficient hydraulic fluid quantity (the fluid levels must be within the green range) and verify that the electric hydraulic pumps are OFF and system pressures are at zero.
Which hydraulic system provides pressure for nosewheel steering?
Hydraulic System 1
Which hydraulic system provides pressure for emergency/parking brake?
Hydraulic System 2
In the AUTO position, when are the electric hydraulic pumps ON? ON position?
In the AUTO position, the electric hydraulic pumps turn ON when pressure drops below 1600 psi or when N2 drops below 56.4%.
When in ON position, the electric hydraulic pumps are commanded ON.
Which hydraulic accumulator is responsible for supplying hydraulic pressure for emergency brake applications?
Hydraulic System #2 accumulator.
During normal flight, the engine driven hydraulic pump supplies a total pressure output of?
3000 psi
Assuming both engines running with the electric hydraulic pump knob in the AUTO position, what is the status of the electric hydraulic pumps?
The pump is kept in standby until the engine driven pump pressure drops below 1600 psi or the associated engine N2 drops below 56.4%.
Can the hydraulic system temperature be monitored on the EICAS or MFD?
No.
The ailerons are normally actuated by which hydraulic system?
Hydraulic System 1 and Hydraulic System 2
In normal cruise flight conditions, the electric hydraulic pumps are producing a psi output of?
0 psi
During a hydraulic system test, what is the first step in performing the test?
Ensure that the nose wheel steering is disengaged by verifying the STEER INOP message is presented on the EICAS.
