Hydraulics Flashcards
What tanks keep the hydraulic lines cool and what is the minimum amount of fuel required?
Tanks 2 & 3 with a minimum of 1000lbs of fuel.
Why must one use extreme caution around hydraulic systems under pressure?
To avoid accidental injection of fluid under the skin.
How many hydraulic pumps are available?
3 AC pumps and 1 DC pump.
How is hydraulic fluid distributed?
Using Pascal’s law. When pressure is exerted on the hydraulic fluid it is evenly distributed to all actuators and valves.
What is Pascal’s law?
Pressure exerted on a contained liquid will transmit the liquid in all directions of the container.
What are valves used for?
The direct the flow of the fluid.
Where are the 2 hydraulic system reservoirs located?
In the Hydraulic Service Center (HSC)
What is the total capacity of reservoir #1?
5.6 gallons.
What is the total capacity of reservoir #2?
1 gallon
What does the booster assembly do?
It is designed to give the pilot a normal feel of control forces.
What do the actuators do?
They transform hydraulic fluid pressure into mechanical pressure to perform work.
