Hydraulics Flashcards
What is the difference between hydraulic systems 1 and 2?
Services provided by each system, and system 1 has a priority valve
What is the capacity of the hydraulic reservoir?
6 liters
What quantity of hydraulic fluid will trigger the hydraulic low quantity EICAS message?
Below 1 liter
Where is the hydraulic system 1 accumulator located?
Forward right nose hydraulic compartment
Where is the hydraulic system 2 accumulator located?
Hydraulic compartment on the right side of the aircraft, behind the wing
How is a clogged hydraulic filter indicated?
Pop-up indicator on the hydraulic manifold. There is no cockpit indication.
What is the main difference between the engine driven hydraulic pump and electric hydraulic pump?
Volume output is much higher when using engine driven pump
What is the output of the engine driven hydraulic pump?
3,000 psi
9.2 gallons per minute
What is the output of the electric hydraulic pump?
2,900 psi
0.7 gallons per minute
How is the hydraulic reservoir pressurized?
It uses its own system pressure referred to as “bootstrapping”
What is the purpose of the priority valve?
To ensure adequate pressure to the flight controls when operating on the electric hydraulic pump
What is the number 1 hydraulic accumulator used for?
Raising the main cabin door
Assisting in raising landing gear
What is the number 2 hydraulic accumulator used for?
Emergency brake - 6 applications
Parking brake - holds 24 hours
What are two ways to close the hydraulic shutoff valve?
Press the ENG PUMP SHUTOFF guarded button
Pull the fire handle
What is the function of the AUTO position of the electric hydraulic pump?
Electric pump is in standby, and will turn on in either of the following conditions:
Pressure drops below 1600 psi
N2 drops below 56.4%
