How does a pilot switch from DAU channel A to DAU channel B?
Press the DAU button on the EICAS Reversionary Panel
If a PFD screen fails, how can the PFD displayed on the MFD screen?
Select PFD using the MFD Reversion knob

Hydraulic
Electric
What are two ways of changing the range on the MFD map?
-Map range knob on MFD bezel
-Arrow buttons on radar
controller when WX selected on
MFD
Which screen can serve as a backup display for the PFD or EICAS?
MFD
Which MFD systems pages displays engine oil quantity?
Takeoff/Doors
Which MFD systems pages displays oxygen pressure?
ECS Anti-ice
Which MFD systems pages displays brake temperatures?

What is the likely failure if a red X is displayed on each of the left 3 display screens?
IC-600 1 failure
What is the likely failure if a red X is displayed on each of the right 2 display screens?
IC-600 2 failure
What is the likely cause of a blank PFD 1 and blank MFD 2?
DC bus 1 failure
What is the likely cause of a blank MFD 1, blank PFD 2, and a red X displayed on MFD 2?
DC bus 2 failure
Which button should be pressed on the Reversionary Panel to compensate for a failed Altitude or Airspeed indicator?
ADC
Which button should be pressed on the Reversionary panel to compensate for a failed heading or attitude?
AHRS or IRS
Which button should be pressed on the Reversionary panel to compensate for a failed IC-600?
SG
What is indicated by a white stripe inside a button?
Button position is not normal for flight
What are the three levels of messages displayed on the EICAS and what color represents each level?
Warning - Red
Caution - Amber
Advisory - Cyan
How many messages can the EICAS display simultaneously?
15
When are EICAS messages inhibited during the takeoff phase?
From V1-15 kt until 400 ft RA
When are EICAS messages inhibited during the landing phase?
From 200 ft RA until weight on wheels + 3 seconds
What is the difference between a red windshear alert and an amber windshear alert?
Red: Decreasing performance (tailwind/downdraft)
Amber: Increasing performance (headwind/updraft)
How many channels does the Aural Waring Unit have?
Two
What does the takeoff configuration button check?
Parking brake released
Flaps set for takeoff
Spoilers not deployed
Pitch trim in green range
How many channels does the stall protection system have?
Two
When is the stick pusher inhibited?
-On the ground
-Below 0.5 G
-Quick disconnect button
pressed
-Below 200 ft RA
-Above 200 KIAS
-Any SPS cutout button pressed
out
-One SPS channel inoperative
What does the SPS/ICE SPEEDS EICAS message indicate?
After encountering icing conditions, the SPS will actuate at a lower angle of attack when flaps are set to 9, 18, or 22
When should the SPS be tested?
Prior to each flight
What does a green PLI indicate?
Stall margin is between 5-10 degrees
What does an amber PLI indicate?
Stall margin is between 2-5 degrees
What does a red PLI indicate?
Stall margin is between 0-2 degrees
If an EGPWS warning is received, what should the pilot do?
Immediately disengage the autopilot, set maximum thrust, Pitch to 20 nose up or to the PLI until clear of terrain
How is windshear escape guidance mode entered?
-Manually by pressing the TOGA
buttons while any windshear is
detected
-Automatically when the TLA is
above 78 degrees and a
decreasing performance
windshear is detected
-Automatically when in TO or GA
mode and any windshear is
detected
What lateral mode is active during windshear escape guidance mode?
ROL - wings level
What are the three priorities of the windshear escape guidance mode?
1 - Prevent Stall
2 - Prevent descent (will
command a descent if
necessary to prevent stall)
3 - Prevent overspeed
When a TCAS TA is generated, how much time until a traffic conflict?
30-45 seconds
When a TCAS RA is generated, how much time until a traffic conflict?
20-30 seconds
What should the pilot do when a TCAS resolution advisory is generated?
Disconnect the autopilot
Fly to the green range and avoid the red range on the VSI
