hormones of renal physio Flashcards

1
Q

ADH

A

Acts on collecting ducts.
Increases aquaporin insertion.

Triggered due to high osmolality detected in hypothalamus.

2
Q

aldosterone

A

Acts on collecting ducts.
Increases K+ secretion, Na+ reabsorption.

Triggered due to increased renin (increased renin due to low solute detected by macula densa // low bp detected by JG cells)

Q

renin

A

Increases reabsorption of Na+ in PCT.
Increases secretion of ADH, aldosterone (to increase BP).
Released from JG cells.

Triggered by low bp detected by JG cells.
Triggered by low solute concentration detected by macula densa.

Q

ANP

A
Triggered by high blood pressure.
Effect: lower blood pressure.
-inhibit ADH secretion
-inhibit aldosterone secretion
-inhibit renin secretion
