Individual citizens
They know personal info such as date and place of birth and other info such as friends and family’s phone numbers and email address. They may hold information about organisations despite the fact they have no direct contact
Businesses
They hold the same information as individual citizens. Commercial and financial information about competitors and their own business may also be held in addition to general information about relevant markets.
Educational institutions
They hold information about their students and people who are employed at the school. Some of this is personal information such as names, addresses, place and date of birth.
Governments
They hold a great deal of personal info such as where we live and how much we earn(taxes). They also hold info that the person is unaware of such as tax affairs. They also hold info on other countries and some is released to the public such as travel advice.
Charities
They hold some information such as bank accounts of donors.
Healthcare services
They hold a lot of information such as addresses and medical records.
Community organisations
They may hold contact details of members in the community.
Developing country
They have a less developed infrastructure and lower human development index. They also have less access to computers and the internet so gathering info is more difficult
Developed country
They have a developed infrastructure and higher human development index. They have more access to computers and the internet so gathering info is easier.
Urban
A city or built up area with good internet access (e.g. faster broadband speed) which makes access to online info easier
Rural
A countryside or less built up area with poor internet access so available online info is harder to access.
Home
The place where you live that can hold all of your personal info freely without the need to to protect it or keep it safe.
Workplace
The place where you work and certain aspects of people’s personal info may need to be kept safe and away from random people.
