Databases are often split up into tables to be easier to update, view and manipulate. They allow for the most simple form of pattern discovery and are a good method of speedy short term data analysis however they don’t show change or trends
Visualisation of data
Visualising data makes it easier for an audience to see trends or patterns. Its easier to understand and quick to interpret
Trend and pattern identification
Linked to visualisation of data in allowing trends and patterns to be viewed as a visual format.
Data cleaning
This ensures that stored data is up to date and accurate in accordance with the Data protection act. It reduces the sizes of data tables by removing irrelevant or incorrect data. It improves the quality.
GIS/Location mapping
Geographic information systems can be used to add geographic data to any analysis. This also works for courier services to see delays and deliveries in real time
