What happened when women had lots of Aryan German children?
They were rewarded with the Mother’s Cross
What happened to couples who were married?
They were given 1000 marks because of the Law for the Encouragement of Marriage as long as the woman didn’t work and a quarter was taken and given to each child they had.
What encouraged women to stay unemployed?
The Law for the Reduction of Unemployment gave women financial incentives to stay at home
What were the Nazi’s strict rules on how a woman should look?
They had to wear hair in plaits or buns, weren’t allowed makeup, discouraged from wearing trousers, had to wear full skirts and flat shoes and they had to be blonde, heavy hipped and athletic.
What were women expected to be in charge of?
Only household duties.
What were women discouraged from having?
An interest in politics and higher education.
When was the Enabling Act passed?
23 March 1933
How did the Enabling Act impact trade unions?
Trade unions were banned and replaced with the DAF which outlawed strikes and dissenters. This gave Hitler less opposition and kept the economy going.
What is a dissenter?
Someone who doesn’t hold common opinions.
How did the Enabling Act impact state governments?
Hitler abolished state governments and replaced them with Reich governors so all of the Germany had to accept Hitler’s decisions which increased his control over germany.
