Shan Zhu Yu

1. Stabilizes the KD and secures the essence (for leakage of fluids dt weak essence)
2. Stops excessive sweating and supports that which has collapsed (excessive sweating esp in cases of devastated yang and collapsed qi as in shock. Also used when sweating was mistakenly induced as a tx)
3. Tonifies and augments the LV and KD ((LV and KD deficiency. Both tonifies the essence and assists the yang)
We Wei Zi

1. Contains the leakage of LU qi and stops cough (for chronic cough and weezing dt LU deficiency or patterns of LU and KD deficiency. Inhibits the leakage of LU qi above, enriches KD yin below and stops coughs.)
2. Tonifies the KD, binds up the essence, and stops diarrhea (KD deficiency and daybreak diarrhea dt SP and KD deficinecy)
3. Inhibits sweating and generates fluids (excessive sweating esp when accompanied by thirst or dry throat.)
4. Quiets the spirit while calming and containing the HT qi (Injury to the blood and yin of the HT and KD or lack of communication between these two organs. Esp various types of insomnia.)
Wu Mei

1. Inhibits the leakage of LU qi and stops coughs (for chronic cough dt LU def)
2. Generates fluids and alleviates thirst (thirst dt heat from deficiency or qi and yin deficiency. Often used for wasting thirsting d.o)
3. Expels roundworms and alleviates pain (roundworm induced vomiting and abdominal pain. Or sans parasite)
4. Binds up the Intestines and stops diarrhea (incessant, chronic diarrhea or dysenteric d.o. Also blood in the stool. Stand alone herb)
5. Stops bleeding (for blood in the stool and excessive uterine bleeding accompanied by blood deficiency sx. Stand alone for bleeding from orifices)
6. Used topically as a plaster to tx corns and warts
He Zi
bitter, sour, astringent, neutral

Rou Dou Kou

Chun Pi
bitter, astringent, cold LI, ST 6-9 1. Clears heat, dries dampness, binds up the intestines (chronic diarrhea or dysenteric d/o esp dt damp heat. Esp with blood in stool. Also chronic vaginal discharge dt damp-heat) 2. Kills parasites (round worms)
Chi Shi Zhi

1. Binds up the intestines, stops diarrhea (chronic diarrhea dt cold from deficiency or chronic dysenteric d/o dt cold from deficiency or chronic dysenteric d/o with mucus and blood in the stool.)
2. Contains the blood and stops bleeding (cold from deficiency of the lower burner: uterine bleeding, excessive menstruation, etc)
3. Promotes healing of wounds (ground form and applied topically of chronic, non-healing ulcers. Also weeping damp sores as well as prolapsed rectum)
Yu Yu Liang

Lian Zi

1. Tonifies the SP and stops diarrhea (SP deficiency with chronic diarrhea and loss of appetite. This herb both augments and binds and is thus very useful in treating these disorders)
2. Tonifies the KD and stabilizes the essence (premature ejaculation and spermatorrhea dt unstable, deficient KD. Also excessive uterine bleeding and vaginal discharge)
3. Nourishes the HT and calms the spirit (palpitations with anxiety, irritability associated with deficiency and insomnia. Esp problems associated with lack of communication between HT and KD)
Lian Xu

Qian Shi
