Qing Hao

A

6-12 (do not subject to prolonged cooking)
1. Clears summerheat
2. Clears fever from deficiency (fevers from either blood deficiency or as the sequelae of a febrile disease. Especially useful when steaming bone patterns are marked by an absence of sweating)
3. Cools the blood and stops bleeding (purpuric rashes or nosebleed dt heat in the blood)
4. Checks malaria d/o and resolves heat (for the alternating fever and chills of malarial d/o)

Di Gu Pi

A

sweet, bland, cold

1. Cools the blood and reduces steaming (specifically drains KD fire, eliminates lurking heat and clears heat from the bones. Also for floating fire in the KD channel marked by tooth ache)
2. Clears and drains LU heat (LU heat cough or wheezing)

Bai Wei

1. Clears heat and cools the blood (heat entering the nutritive or blood levels. Most commonly used for post partum fever and during the recovery stage from a febrile disease)
2. Cools the blood and promotes urination (for hot or painful lin, especially before or after giving birth)
3. Resolves toxicity and treats sores (taken internally or applied topically. Not particularily strong)
