Shen Qi

1. Reduces food stagnation and harmonizes the ST (st cold with food stagnation or accumulation)
2. Added to pills that contain minerals to aid their digestion and absorption
Mai Ya

1. Reduces food stagnation and strengthens the ST (poor digestion d/t stagnation and accumulation of undigestioed starchy foods as well as poorly digested milk in infants.)
2. Restrains lactation (women who are discontinuing nursing, distended and painful breasts)
3. Facilitates the smooth flow of LV qi (constrained LV qi manifesting as stifling sensation and distention in the epigastrum or ribs)

Lai Fu Zi

2. Causes qi to descend and reduces phlegm (chronic productive cough or wheezing. Esp in cases of excess)

Strongly reduces food stagnation and improves the SP’s transportive function (various types of food stagnation)
2. Secures the essence and stops enuresis (bed wetting, urinary frequency, urination at night)
