What is decontamination (decon?)
A
Is the process of removing hazardous materials to prevent the spread of contaminates beyond a specific hazard area and reduce contamination to levels that are no longer harmful.

What’s technical decon ?
A
A multistep process that can be expanded or contracted as the event dictates

What is single stage decon?
A
It is established based on risk assessment, number responders and turn the hot zone, but most importantly, the chemical/physical properties and amount of product believed to be present

A
Technical decon task force (E6,E26,T4&T6) requested by hazmat group supervisor. To set up and manage decon area.
