- drug to be prescribed
- drug formulation and dosage
- instructions on quantity to be dispensed
- instructions to be given to patient

how long is a prescription valid for?
six months from date issued
how are dental prescriptions formulated?
written by hand!
what advice should be given to patients regarding their prescription?
- take drugs at correct time & FINISH THE COURSE
- unexpected reactions? STOP & contact prescriber
- known side effects discussed
- keep medicines safe (from children etc)
