Half guard foot walk escape

A

When in half guard keep yourself low to your opponent and with both hands tucked in tight to your opponents side, next slide your hand the opposite side to which knee is trapped up the inside of the opponents body and then grab a cross face with this arm, next stand up and twist your hips towards your opponents and put your weight back down on your opponent so your free knee is on his belly/ hip area and your toes are posted on the floor next walk your foot up that’s trapped closer to your opponents bum to free your knee from theirs then grab an undertook with the arm that’s closet to your opponents hip and then stand up and twist your hips towards the opponents head and post out with your free leg and push down with your hips with should cause your trapped leg to pop out of being trapped between their legs, if it doesn’t then use your free legs to help escape your trapped leg, next walk your legs out towards their hips to stop them from turning up onto you and then move into side control position

Half guard from top darce choke

A

When your in half guard on top and your opponent is on his side if they go to grab the underhook with their top arm we feed our same side arm underneath their underhook arm and grab behind the far side of the opponents neck so their head and top arm and trapped inside our arm that’s gripping their head, from here we take our other arm elbow and place it behind the opponents neck and pull our elbow in toward our body causing the head to move towards us then with our other hand that’s trapping their head and arm we grab the bicep of our arm pulling the head back to lock in the darce and from here we can fall onto our hip and lift the elbow of the choking arm to finish

Half guard tripod escape to kesi Gatami

A

When I half guard position grab a gross face and underhook grip on your opponent, when in this position lean your weight forward and post out on your head and bring your butt high and your gets straight and move into a tripod position, from here I twist my hips in towards my opponent so that my outside legs knee ends up on my opponents belly and I’m up on my toes on the foot, from here I push the opponents leg off my inside leg and past my knee and I grab and underhook again on the far arm and tripod up on my head again and twist away form my opponents body this time so that my outside leg is posted out and my inside legs shin is on my opponents calve, I now control the tricep of the near side arm with the same side arm and kick my inside leg through towards the opponents head to move into my kesi katami position, from here I can now move to side control very easily

Half guard/quarter guard to honey hole

A

When in my half guard position if I twist my hips so that my inside legs knee is facing outwards and my free leg is posting out my opponent can trap my foot to stop me escaping which is called quarter guards, from here I can back step with my free leg over my opponent and my free legs knee under my opponents other leg and join it up with my ankle from here I grab their far leg with an Achilles lock and fall to my opponent side and lock my legs up in a figure four, from this honey hole position I can attack with lots of leg attacks

Half guard escape when opponent has a underhook

A

When in half guard position on top and your opponent manages to get an underhook on the same side you have a cross face on your opponent this will make it very hard to put your shoulder pressure on your opponent so to flatten them out to allow us to put pressure on the opponent we slide outward the knee of the trapped leg, after this we switch our cross face arms then back step with our free leg, next we pull the opponent top knee into us from Behind the knee crease and with our free leg we shrimp away from our opponents legs to slowly free our trapped leg and once the trapped leg is nearly free we take our free leg and push on our opponents leg and pull our trapped leg out then we place our arm that was gripping behind the opponents knee and place it on the opponents near side hip and then we slide our legs into side control position

Half guard escape from bottom

A

When in half guard on the bottom we have on hand on the opponents opposite side arm bicep and one on the shoulder, next we take knee from our outside leg and slide it under the opponents armpit area then we take the arm that was posting on the opponents shoulder and slide it on the inside of our knee and next to the opponents side and from here we kick our leg out to give us momentum to grab the free arm into and underhook and behind the opponents back and post up on our other elbow whilst keeping control of the opponents arm making sure our forehead ends up in the opponents neck crease,
From here we pull our inside leg out in a technical standup motion to get us back to our feet, from here we can come into the opponents back

Half guard bottom to lockdown

A

When in half guard on bottom take your inside leg back in the inside of your opponents leg and take your outside leg you have trapping the opponents leg and cross it under your inside leg by the heel and then hook your inside leg foot under the opponents heel and straighten your legs out, this will cause the opponents leg to straighten out and make it hard for them to move.

Half guard bottom lockdown sweep

A

Once you have your opponent in lockdown And your postured arms are postured up on his bicep and shoulder take the arm on the shoulder out and place it by the opponents waist next with your legs and the arm you still have hold of pull your opponent towards and over your hip line whilst reaching with the arm by their waist over the back and gripping the bum area and then crunch up slightly on your side facing your opponents leg you don’t have trapped so your head ends up near the opponents knees making sure to tuck your free elbow into your side, next with your free arm feed it in between your opponents legs and grab the shin of the opponents free and pull their ankle towards your your arm that’s grabbing their but and grab the ankle and grab the same side knee with the other hand, next feed your inside leg out and post out on it to get to your knees while keeping hold of the ankle and knee then step around your opponent to their far side and then pull the knee towards you to make your opponent roll into their back and then move into side control or take the back

Half guard bottom lockdown sweep plan b

A

Once you have your opponent in lockdown And your postured arms are postured up on his bicep and shoulder take the arm on the shoulder out and place it by the opponents waist next with your legs and the arm you still have hold of pull your opponent towards and over your hip line whilst reaching with the arm by their waist over the back and gripping the bum area and then crunch up slightly on your side facing your opponents leg you don’t have trapped so your head ends up near the opponents knees making sure to tuck your free elbow into your side, next with your free arm feed it in between your opponents leg and if they’ve posted their free leg out away from their body you now grab their knee on the shin side and free your inside leg and reverse shrimp towards the knee and then flip your hips the opposite way whilst pushing the knee towards the opposite side of the body, this will cause the opponent to land on the back next slide your knee tight into the opponents bum and your same side arm tight to the far side hip of the opponent and pull your elbow and knee tight to each other to stop your opponent escaping and then move into side control

Half guard to leg lock entry ( Craig jones)

Kneeling down With one leg on the inside of your opponents leg and on the knee of the other leg lean forward and post on your head and grab under the Achilies with the arm closest to their ankle then slip the knee you’re knelt on underneath the knee crease and sit back and roll away from the body and push the hips forward and look up

Half guard to conventional knee bar

A

When in half guard I spin my body frontside and step my outside free leg over my opponent and onto their other side so I end up with both my legs on either side of one of their legs sat on my opponent facing away from here I can grab both legs and move into a double trouble knee bar or just grab one leg and move into a knee bar
