A
Aspirin - impairs aggregation of platelets and reduces ability to adhere to sub-endothelial components

Why does the clot not spread across the whole vessel?
A
Healthy endothelium secretes nitric oxide which inhibits adhesion prostacyclin which does the same but also stops aggregation.
