- type B
- Type AB
- Type O
What type of antigen do blood A have?
Antigen A
What type of antigen do blood B have?
Antigen B
What type of antigen do BLOOD AB have?
Antigen A and B
What type of antigen does BLOOD O have?
No antigen
What antibodies does antigen A have?
Antibodies B
What ANTIBODIES does blood B have?
Antibodies A
What antibodies does blood AB have?
No antibodies, only antigen
What antibodies does blood O have?
Antibody A and B
What is Rh-?
When NO antigen d on RBC
+What is Rh+?
D antigen is also present on RBC
What is haemolytic disease of the new-born?
- Foetus id Rh+
- Mother is Rh-
- during delivery placental tissue breaks down which results in mixing of blood between foetus and mother
- So foetus Rh+ blood enter mother blood circulation
- as she is Rh-, the Rh+ d antigen is foreign
- so it leads to immune response producing antibodies d
(anti Rh+ antibodies) - These antibodies go into foetus, and attach to foetal RBC
- lead to haemolysis : break down of RBC
- foetus dies!
