  • May mimic serous carcinoma

Mucinous cystadenoma:

  • May be massive in size

Endometrioma

A

Complication of endometriosis (chocolate cysts):

  • Endometrial tissue occurs outside of uterine cavity
  • Symptoms: Pelvic pain/retroverted uterus/dysmenorrhoea/deep dypareunia
  • Investigation - Bimanual/Speculum/Laparoscopy

Treatment:

  • Conservative
  • Medical: NSAIDS/Paracetamol/Codeine/COCP
  • Surgical: Ablation/adhesiolysis/abdominal hysterectomy
