Breast
Ovarian
Fallopian tube
Peritoneal cancer
Prostate
Pancreatic
What are BRCA 1, 2 mutations?
Tumor suppressor genes that encode proteins that function in DNA repair
What is the breast cancer surveillance for BRCA1,2 mutations?
Clinical breast exam every 6-12 months with Annual MRI from age 25-29y/o
MMG and MRI alternating every 6 months at age 30 and beyond
Is there any ovarian cancer screening for BRCA 1,2 carriers?
Can consider Ca125 and ultrasound at age 30-35 until undergoes risk reducing surgery
Which BRCA mutation is associated with hormone + breast cancer?
BRCA 2
What is chemoprophylaxis for BRCA 1,2 mutation carriers?
Combined hormonal contraceptives
Tamoxifen
What age should a risk reducing BSO be performed for BRCA 1?
35-40y/o
What age should risk reducing BSO be performed for BRCA 2?
40-45y/o
Where should ovarian vessels be isolated and ligated for ppx BSO in BRCA mutation carriers?
2cm proximal to the end of identifiable ovarian tissue
Can you give HRT to patients undergoing ppx BSO for BRCA mutation?
Yes for a couple years if no breast cancer
Is Lynch syndrome autosomal dominant or recessive?

What is the issue with Lynch syndrome?
Defect in mismatch repair system
What are the possible cancers with Lynch syndrome?
