What is change management?
“The discipline that guides how we prepare, equip, and support individuals to successfully adopt change in order to drive organizational success and outcomes.”

What 3 elements must be present to effect a good change?
a. Must understand companies needs, goals.
b. Must get workers to change
c. Must have workers trust, and patience
What is a cognitive bias? a social bias?
Cognitive bias- A term associated with the decision making and heuristics/ biases line of research.
Social Bias- Subgroup of cognitive biases relating to how we perceive other human beings.
What are three examples of a social bias?
Fundamental Attribution error
Stereotyping
Halo effect
What is the fundamental attribution error
Misidentifying the cause for someones behaviour, whether true cause is personality, or situational context
What is the halo effect?
“If something looks good, it is good.” Overall impression of a person also impacts their evaluation wrt other characteristics

What is anchoring?
When an initial suggestion, or preliminary info, sways a persons answer. (Often wrt quantitative stuff). The answer is swayed even if the info given is obviously bogus.
What are the modes of judgement making? When does anchoring have an impact?
- Knowing the true value. (No effect)
- Making an estimate on categorical knowledge (Sometimes affected)
- Making a mental model and using positive test strategy. Anchoring has greatest effect here
What is the Confirmation Bias?
The Bias that people give more weight, or give less doubt, to information or evidence for views they already hold.
In what ways does confirmation bias present itself?
In
- Searching- Seeking only the expected/ desired/known outcome
- Interpreting info- Bias against info that is found which disagrees Eg demand higher std of prood
- Recalling info- Easier to recall conforming info.
What is the ‘Disconfirmation Bias’
A bias present in the interpretation of newfound info. People are more quick to find faults in beliefs they do not hold than those they do hold and believe in.
