Goni Stabilization (UE) Flashcards
Shoulder Flexion
Shoulder complex: thorax to prevent extension of spine and movement of ribs
Shoulder Extension
Shoulder complex: weight of trunk should stabilize but therapist can stabilize trunk to prevent rotation of spine
Shoulder Abduction
Shoulder complex: thorax to prevent lateral flexion of spine (weight of trunk may assist)
Shoulder Internal Rotation
Shoulder complex: at distal end of humerus to keep shoulder in 90* of abduction; thorax may be stabilized by weight of trunk
Shoulder External Rotation
Shoulder complex: distal end of humerus to keep shoulder in 90* of abduction; thorax may be stabilized by weight of trunk
Elbow Flexion
The humerus to prevent flexion of shoulder; the pad under distal humerus and table prevents extension
Elbow Extension
The humerus to prevent flexion of shoulder; pad under distal humerus and table prevents extension
Forearm Pronation
The distal end of humerus to prevent medial rotation and abduction of the shoulder
Forearm Supination
The distal end of humerus to prevent lateral rotation and adduction of shoulder
Wrist Flexion
The radius and ulna to prevent supination or pronation of forearm and motion of the elbow
Wrist Extension
The radius and ulna to prevent supination or pronation of the forearm and motion of the elbow
Wrist Radial Deviation
The radius and ulna to prevent pronation or supination of the forearm and elbow flexion beyond 90* degrees
Wrist Ulnar Deviation
The radius and ulna to prevent pronation or supination of the forearm and less than 90* of elbow flexion
