Goni Alignment: Spine Flashcards
Cervical Flexion fulcrum
Over the external auditory meatus
Cervical Flexion stationary (proximal) arm
Perpendicular or parallel to the ground
Cervical Flexion moving (distal) arm
With base of nares
Cervical Extension fulcrum
Over the external auditory meatus
Cervical Extension stationary (proximal) arm
Perpendicular to parallel to the ground
Cervical Extension moving (distal) arm
With the base of nares
Cervical Lateral Flexion fulcrum
Over the spinous process of C7 vertebra
Cervical Lateral Flexion stationary (proximal) arm
With the spinous processes of thoracic vertebrae so that arm is perpendicular to the ground
Cervical Lateral Flexion moving (distal) arm
With the dorsal midline of the head (using occipital protuberance for reference)
Cervical Rotation fulcrum
Over the center of cranial aspect of head
Cervical Rotation stationary (proximal) arm
Parallel to an imaginary line between the left and right acromial processes
Cervical Rotation moving (distal) arm
With the tip of the nose
Thoracolumbar Rotation fulcrum
Over the center of the cranial aspect of the individual’s head
Thoracolumbar Rotation stationary (proximal) arm
Parallel to an imaginary line between the two prominent tubercles on the iliac crest
Thoracolumbar Rotation moving (distal) arm
With an imaginary line between the two acromial processes
