- What does SMART stand for in goal setting
Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Recorded, Time phased
- Why is SMART goal setting important
For attentional focus, task persistence, raising confidence and self-efficacy, controlling arousal and anxiety, to monitor performance
- Why might goals not always be effective
Goal is not specific and focused, goal is not measurable so lose motivation, goal may not be achievable and be too hard which leads to motivation loss, goal may not be recorded so hard to monitor progress, goal may be too short or too long which leads to boredom or being too easy or hard
