A
Hypoglycaemia, 1st line agent if patient is unable to swallow

Contraindications

Nil

Dose
A
Adult
* IV 15g (150ml)
Repeat after 5 -10 mins if BGL < 4mmol/l at 10g (100ml) titrated to effect.
Paediatric
* IV / IO - 2ml/kg (0.20g/kg), [max bolus 15g/150ml]
Repeat after 5 -10 mins if BGL < 4mmol/l at 2ml/kg (0.20g/kg), [max bolus 10g/100ml] titrated to effect.
Newborn
* 2ml/kg (0.20g/kg)
Repeat once only, if clinically indicated (BGL < 2 mmol/L)
