- Evaluation of ophthalmic test in case of glanders
A
Protocol: 24 hours rest before test, 0.2 mL mallein dripped onto conjunctiva
- Evaluation 8-12h or 16-24h
Negative: no reaction, no swelling
Inconclusive: mild mucous discharge → repeat, confirm with serology ASAP
Positive: swollen, reddened eyelid, purulent discharge

- Personal disinfection
- Protective clothing, gloves and footwear
- Prohibited treatment of diseased animals// high risk of spreading
- Suspected of being diseased animals treated only by veterinarian
